Get Started

Welcome to Ice Hockey at the Zoo!

Our aim is to provide a fun, friendly environment to learn and develop hockey skills and teamwork. There are three different ways for young players, 4 to 17 years old, to experience ice hockey with the Ice Zoo Hockey club.

  1. Ice Zoo Meerkats – all skill levels focused on skills and fun games.
  2. Ice Zoo Skate Academy, Hockey Bridging Program – new and intermediate players focused on skating and fundamentals.
  3. The Wolves – join a team, train and play competitive games.

Hockey Bridging Program, For beginner & intermediate players.

New to Ice Hockey

Hockey 1, is an introduction to hockey skills. Children who join this program are expected to have some skating skills and be comfortable on the ice.

Developing Players

Hockey 2, is an opportunity to further develop your skills.

These programs cover skills such as hockey stance, forward and backward skating, edge work and turning. As these sessions focus on skating skills there are no pucks on the ice. 30min lesson and then extra time to practice new skills.

Children do not have to have full hockey gear to participate in the session but shin pads and helmets are highly recommended.
