Leagues Objectives
- Provide players and goalies with fun, balanced, intense, competitive hockey games.
- Increase puck touches and shots on goal to further develop the participant’s game sense, skills, and team play.
- Provide an opportunity for a parent or new coach wanting to learn how to coach a team/bench (STARTERS and UP&COMERS).
- Provide mentorship opportunities for a green jersey (STARTERS and UP&COMERS) or any officials to learn how to call penalties and improve their game management and communications.

STARTERS League Details
- For Beginner to Intermediate players/goalies.
- 9U – Advanced
- 11U – Beginner to intermediate
- 13U – Beginner
- Meerkats players
- Every Tuesday from Oct 10th to Dec 12th (10 Weeks)
- 3vs3 Cross-Ice. Download Special 2 page Quick Rules
- Full ice hockey gear is required – see Quick Rules above.
- 1 min shifts
- No stoppage of play
- Changes on the fly on the horn
- Balanced teams
- 3 x 25 min games per week per team.
- Between 5:15 to 6:45pm
- 5:15pm – 5min warm-up
- 5:20pm – Game 1 starts
- 5:45pm – 5min change over
- 5:50pm – Game 2 starts
- 6:15pm – 5min change over
- 6:20pm – Game 3 starts
- 30 games total per team for the season.
- Juicebox jersey provided (loan) to each player.
- Full ice-hockey gear with face cage and neck guards is required.
- Players/Goalies Season Fees $300.00
- Max 9P + 1G per team – 4 Teams – Total spots 36 players & 4 goalies
UP&COMERS League Details
- For Intermediate to Advanced players/goalies.
- 11U – Advanced
- 13U – Intermidiate to Advanced
- 15U – Beginner
- Every Wednesday from Oct 11th to Dec 13th (10 Weeks)

- 1 min shifts
- No stoppage of play
- Changes on the fly on the horn
- Balanced teams
- 3 x 18 min games per week per team.
- Between 6:15 to 7:15pm
- 6:15pm – 2min warm-up
- 6:17pm – Game 1 starts
- 6:35pm – 2min change over
- 6:37pm – Game 2 starts
- 6:55pm – 2min change over
- 6:57pm – Game 3 starts
- 30 games total per team for the season.
- Juicebox jersey provided (loan) to each player.
- Full ice-hockey gear with face cage and neck guards is required.
- Players/Goalies Season Fees $250.00
- Max 9P + 1G per team – 4 Teams – Total spots 36 players & 4 goalies
WOMEN League Details
- For players/goalies 14+ to Adult
- Every Wednesday from Oct 11th to Dec 13th (10 Weeks)
- Hybrid game style:
- Some weeks FULL-ICE group is divided into 2 teams.
- Some weeks 3vs3 – CROSS-ICE – group divided into 4 teams. Download Special 2 page Quick rules
- Balanced teams
- Juicebox jersey provided (loan) to each player.
- Full ice-hockey gear with a face cage (U18 must also wear neck guards) is required.
- Players/Goalies Season Fees $250.00.
- Total spots 28 players & 4 goalies
All participants must be registered with IHA/IHNSW
- Players/ Goalies must be registered players with a club or hold a development junior membership. Registration is done through Esportdesk Portal.
- Coaches must hold at a minimum a Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a Non-playing official (NPO) membership.
- On-ice Officials must be registered IHA/IHNSW officials
- Off-ice officials must at least hold an NPO membership.
- All participants, including parents, are bound by the IHA/IHNSW respective’s code of conduct which can be found with your IHA/IHNSW club memberships.
- All games played at Ice Zoo.
Player and Goalie Selections
All players are subject to the league selection committee before they are confirmed in a team. This ensures the teams have the right balance and to be a good even competition that maximises player development.
All players and goalies must pay the fee to the Ice Zoo Hockey Club to confirm their registration. First paid, first in basis.
If players are deemed inadequate for the league’s balance or were just too late to register, a full refund of the league fees will be given.
The league’s selections committee reserves the right to refuse participation at any time for anyone who breaches their code of conduct or risks the safety of anyone involved. No refund would be given for players/parents misbehaving in this case.

Coaches and Officials’ Payment
A $30 per week travel allowance will be given to each bench coach, on-ice official and timekeeper. Paid Monthly – Once in Nov and final at the end of the season in Dec.
